Server Upgrades |

We are scheduling upgrades to our mail and primary radius servers over the next few weeks. The mail server handles all incoming and outgoing e-mail. The radius server enables you to login to the network. The mail server upgrade will update our current version of Sendmail. The new version of Sendmail has improved anti-spam and security features. |

administrative capabilities. Our backup radius server will handle logins while the primary server is being upgraded. This upgrade is planned for the second week of this month. The mail server upgrade will be less time consuming and we will perform this on the third weekend of the month to minimize any possibility of a service disruption. |
Answering Service |

If you have called into the office lately, you may have been surprised by being greeted by an answering service operator. We recently contracted with MAP

Mobile to make sure you always get a real person when calling us. If your call is about a computer issue, they will give you the toll free number for our tech support team. |
Otherwise, they will page us with your call. This enables us to quickly respond to calls when away from the office phones. |
Cove Awarded New Contract |

We will continue to provide Internet services to the City and School System of Gloucester for at least another three years! Cove has been the City's Internet Service Provider for |
many years, but by law, the City was required to bring the contract up for competitive bid this year. Cove was selected out of a field of 27 companies that requested copies of the |
Request for Proposals. We received notice of the contract award on October 23. Our service agreement with the City has worked out well for everyone. We provide access to the High School in |
exchange for space in that school's server room for our equipment. Subscribers located on Cape Ann dial into our equipment located at the High School. |

The only incident to report was a ten minute outage somewhere upstream of our network on October 17. We are constructing the foundation for our new line of web hosting services, which will debut in December. |
This involves developing several new web servers, web management and caching servers and control panels for our web customers and tech support team. We then plan on rolling out a series of specialized web hosting services for the new year. |
