WebMail Improvements

Inside this issue:

For almost a year now, subscribers have been able to use our WebMail interface to read their email, reply to email with or without the original message and send new messages through any browser.

This interface is a very handy way for anyone traveling or away from their computer to keep up with their email.

Cove's WebMail is more sophisticated than typical

web-based email in that it works with your POP3 mailbox. Most web-based email services do not provide you the ability to also download messages through an email program.

We have made significant improvements to WebMail over the past few months.

The most noticeable difference you will find is the ability to delete mail from your inbox. We have also developed WebMail to work with our mail filtering service, MailCheck, so now you can also delete all spam messages with just the click of a button.

Router Upgrade

The new memory modules for our new primary router have finally arrived. We will be “burning in” the new router and configuring it over the next two weeks.

The new router will be placed into operation on Saturday, May 18. There will be a brief network outage as we swap our circuits over to the new router.

We will be reminding everyone of this event via email several times over the next few weeks, so everyone is aware of the upcoming outage.

Phone System Update

Our new phone system is now fully operational.

We have made several changes to the menus over the past month to make the system easier

to navigate. Our thanks go out to those who made suggestions for improving our menus.

We would like to stress how important it is to leave a message if

your call is answered by the phone system instead of a live person.

If you are answered by the phone system, we are probably on the phone with another subscriber

when you call.

If you leave a message, we will call you back as soon as we can.

Help Desk Notes

SysAdmin's Corner

It was another quiet month at the help desk.

Again, most calls were for account setup information.

If you ever need help, please select tech support if you call

our main office numbers. This will enable you to get our access numbers, email settings or talk with someone at our help desk.

Remember, the tech support team is available 24 hours a day and the direct, toll free number is
877-221-2116.

This was another quiet month on the network as well. None of our upstream providers had any incidents to report.

Our new web server is almost operational. We are just waiting for an important security patch to the control panel before

we begin transferring clients' web sites over to the new system.

The next scheduled projects involve the transfer of our secure server to an upgraded system, configuring a new database server and implementing a new java application server.

New Subscriber Referral Promotion!

Are you pleased with our service? Do you know someone who is unhappy with their current Internet or On-line service?

Why not do them and yourself a favor?

Just recommend our service. If they subscribe, we'll give you a free month of access!

They will appreciate your advice and you'll save a little money.

Again this month, over a dozen subscribers are getting their access in May for free - just by referring new subscribers.

Everybody wins!

Did You Know?

We have discovered that some subscribers are not aware of the many services and features we have developed and implemented over the years.

This new column will review one of the many services and features we offer to our subscribers each month.
