Web Site Updates

We decided to make a few additions and updates to our web site.
Two "meta-search" engines, Google and Dogpile, were added to our Search Engines Page.
Our Travel Page now features SmarTraveller, which enables you to see real-time views of the commuter traffic in and around Boston.
Our Administrivia Section now offers detailed instructions on how to access your email while you are away, and our policy statement.
Our
Help Page now provides dialup and settings information.
You can now monitor our web site's activity at www.cove.com/reports/, which is on the Virtual Server Hosting Page linked in our Sales & Services Section.
Our compass and logo images have been refined by David Carroll, our new graphic artist.
If you notice a link no longer works on our pages, of if you would like us to include any link, please let us know!

New Mail Server

Our new mail server was successfully transitioned and became fully operational just after 4 PM on Saturday, April 29.
This new server has enhanced security and anti-spam features. We have seen several spam messages returned back to their sender just in the first day of operation.
We now have the ability to reject messages from any address and/or domain. Please continue to send any spam to abuse@cove.com, so we can block those spammers!

Free Courses!

We have received permission from DPEC, the provider of our web-based courseware, to offer our subscribers free introductory courses on basic computer and Internet use. You can access those courses via our Help Page.
DPEC has also added another 33 courses to their impressive courseware inventory.
We highly recommend these courses to anyone considering training towards certification as a Microsoft Certified Professional, Microsoft Office User Specialist, A+ Specialist, Novell CNE or Cisco CCNA. These programs are very convenient and the most cost effective way to prepare for exams available today.

Help Desk Notes

We still find many customers have had their network settings changed recently. This change shows up on your screen as the error message: "unable to negotiate a compatible set of protocols."
We discovered that many tax programs (e.g., Turbo Tax) alter dialup settings. We have also found several other fixes for wayward Dialup Networking programs.
Please call us if you have trouble connecting. Remember, we're here to help you!

SysAdmin's Corner

We are closely monitoring the new mail server operations to identify any unseen misconfigurations. If you experience any difficulty sending and/or receiving email, please let us know.
Our e-commerce server is in its final testing stages and soon we will implement a fully automated domain name registration service.
A new NT server will be introduced this month to augment our FrontPage-based virtual web sites and Real video and audio servers.

Subscriber Referral Program

Are you pleased with our service? Do you know someone who is unhappy with their current Internet/On-line service?
Why not do them and yourself a favor?
Just recommend our service. If they subscribe, we'll give you a free month of access!
They will appreciate your advice and you'll save a little money.
Again this month, over a dozen subscribers are getting their access in May for free - by referring new subscribers.

Everybody wins!

Internet Training

Have you seen our new web-based training packages?
They are convenient, up-to-date, and very inexpensive.
You can even take a course on Windows98 for free!
Visit this website at:
www.courses.cove.com

You can now even take some courses for free! Just visit our Help Page for access.
