Server Swap

Inside this issue:

We are working on a new server to replace several services currently running on a few older servers.

This new server will be put into place this coming weekend, either June 4th or 5th.

The swap will require us to shut down the older servers while the new server is brought on-line and this will cause a service outage roughly lasting 15 minutes.

Happy Dad's Day!

Again, we will be making the swap over the weekend to minimize any inconvenience this downtime may cause you.

The services affected will be Cove's web site (www.cove.com), our tech support's web site, our WebMail interface and mail server for Cove email addresses, our secure server (stronghold.cove.com), our on-line forms and our java application services.

Chances are the grand majority of you won't even notice the downtime as it will only be for about 15 minutes, but we thought you'd like to know. :)

New Number Reminder

As we mentioned last month, we now have a new toll-free number you can call to reach our office.

Our new office number is
888-903-COVE (2683).

We will keep our old numbers (978-282-3399 in Gloucester and 978-741-5300 in Salem) active through 2005 so people can get used to dialing the new number.

The new number dials into our new PBX, which has caller ID and emails a copy of your message if we cannot answer your call.

Data Center Search

We are now searching for one or more data centers to house our new web hosting servers.

The new web hosting servers are enterprise-class servers and will be the foundation of

our new H-Sphere web hosting cluster for at least the next three years.

Possible locations for the data center(s) include Austin TX, St. Louis MO, Chicago IL,

Orlando FL, Santa Clara and Los Angeles CA.

We expect to ship these servers to the data center(s) sometime in August.

Our new hosting services will be offered under one our new domain names, cohost.com. We will be writing more about cohost.com in future newsletters.

Help Desk Notes

SysAdmin's Corner

It was mainly a quiet month at the help desk.

Most calls were for setup information.

If you ever need help, please select tech support (Option 2) if you call our main office. This

will enable you to get our dialup access numbers, email settings or our toll-free help desk number.

Please remember, our help desk team is available to you 24 hours a day and the direct, toll free number is
877-221-2116.

This was a quiet month on the network.

Our upstream providers reported no outages and, aside from a few brief reboots to some of our server, our servers had no downtime.

Our new backup server is installed and now all our production servers are backing their data to it on a daily basis.

Currently we are finishing up the new server which will be swapped into production this weekend.

New Subscriber Referral Promotion!

Are you pleased with our service? Do you know someone who is unhappy with their current Internet or On-line service?

Why not do them and yourself a favor?

Just recommend our service. If they subscribe, we'll give you a free month of access!

They will appreciate your advice and you'll save a little money.

Again this month, several subscribers are getting their access in June for free - just by referring new subscribers.

Everybody wins!

Did You Know?

Has your address or phone number changed? Do you want to change your password, add or remove a dialup or email account, or give us a new credit card number?

You can make any of these changes securely and on-line at
