  What's New at The Cove

Final Changes

Inside this issue:

We are now fully settled in to our new office and all our servers are operating out of the new facility.

There are now only a few final changes to mention: our new phone system, phone number and mailing address.

We have replaced our old phone system with a new, state-of-the-art PBX service.

Our phone menu remains the same, but now we have advanced ways to manage your calls.

Hooray for May!

This new service forwards calls to us wherever we are. If we are unavailable to take your call, it will take a message and then email your message to us.

We also have a new phone number! The new number is

888-903-COVE.

This new number is a toll-free, “800” number so there is no charge to you for using this number.

We will keep our old numbers for a year or so until people get used to dialing the new number.

(continued on back)

CoveCam Status

As you know, the CoveCam has moved to the offices of our good friends at BitWyse Solutions, a company located in Shetland Park with a commanding view of Salem Harbor.

Although the camera, server and firewall have moved, the equipment is not yet setup in its new location.

Other priorities at BitWyse have delayed the installation. We anticipate the CoveCam will be setup and reconfigured to operate in BitWyse' network within the next week or so.

Final Changes (cont.)

Our new phone service also saves the caller's phone number, so we can now return calls when the caller forgets to leave us their phone number.

Our mailing address has also changed now that we have moved our office out of Shetland Park in Salem.

Our new mailing address is the same address you

already mail your payments to:

Cove Communications
PO Box 376
Prides Crossing, MA
01965-0376

This address should now also be used for all correspondence.

Thank you for your cooperation during all these moves and changes!

Help Desk Notes

SysAdmin's Corner

It was mainly a quiet month at the help desk.

Most calls were for setup information.

If you ever need help, please select tech support (Option 2) if you call our main office. This

will enable you to get our dialup access numbers, email settings or our toll-free help desk number.

Please remember, our help desk team is available to you 24 hours a day and the direct, toll free number is
877-221-2116.

This was a quiet, but busy month on the network.

Our upstream providers reported no outages and, aside from a few brief reboots to some of our servers, we had no downtime.

Now that the final changes

have been made and we are fully operational in our new facility, we have changed focus to improving our infrastructure.

Our next project involves configuring and installing a new backup server.

New Subscriber Referral Promotion!

Are you pleased with our service? Do you know someone who is unhappy with their current Internet or On-line service?

Why not do them and yourself a favor?

Just recommend our service. If they subscribe, we'll give you a free month of access!

They will appreciate your advice and you'll save a little money.

Again this month, several subscribers are getting their access in May for free - just by referring new subscribers.

Everybody wins!

Receiving email with a large attachment makes your email program seem like it is not working, but actually it is just trying to download that huge attachment.

This problem is easily solved by first checking your mail, viewing and deleting that message, through our WebMail interface!
